Cue the fire department came during our Birdemic watch party

We were 20 minutes into Birdemic last Friday when the smoke alarm went off from my roommate burning popcorn. Took us 45 minutes to shut it off because we couldn't find the reset button on the ceiling. Then by the time we got back to the movie, the bad CGI eagles were already dive bombing everyone and we missed half the dialog. Anyone else have their bad movie night get totally derailed by something dumb like that?

No way, @lindahunt you sat through Birdemic without the eagles? That's basically the whole point of the movie. My buddy tried to fast forward to get back to where we left off but the smoke alarm kept beeping every 10 seconds for the rest of the night. We ended up just watching the eagle scenes on YouTube later but it killed the whole group atmosphere.

Oh wow, that's rough. I used to think a movie night getting interrupted was no big deal, like just pause it and move on. But honestly, your story changed my mind. Losing 45 minutes of your evening to a smoke alarm and then coming back to a movie mid-eagle attack sounds like a total nightmare. I get why you'd be frustrated, bad movie or not, the timing just kills the whole vibe. Hope you at least got to rewind and catch the glorious cheap CGI later.
