Rented Battlefield Earth on a dare and my $2 DVD player died 20 minutes in, best thing that ever happened
Two Fridays ago my buddy Dave dared me to rent Battlefield Earth for our bad movie night in my basement, so I grabbed it for $2 at the used place on Elm Street. Twenty minutes in, right around the part where Travolta does that laugh thing, my old DVD player just quit, no warning, dead. We were bummed for about a minute until Dave suggested we just act out the rest from memory, and honestly our fake version with sock puppets was way better than the real movie. Now we skip the actual films half the time and just do live bits of the worst scenes we remember, and it is the most fun we have had in months. I think the broken player did us a favor because watching bad movies passively gets old, but making fun of them together never does. Does anyone else here mix up their bad movie nights with skits, or do you all just stick to actually watching the whole thing?
