The 5 AM premiere showing I walked out of is getting a cult following and I don't get it

Last month I caught a midnight screening of Plan 9 From Outer Space at the Plaza Theater in Atlanta, and I swear I was the only person who wasn't laughing. Everyone around me was cracking up at the cardboard tombstones and bad dubbing, but I just felt bored. My buddy kept elbowing me going "isn't this hilarious" and I kept shrugging. I get that it's supposed to be so bad it's good, but to me it was just... dull. Like the acting is stiff, the plot makes no sense, and not in a fun way, in a boring way. Does anyone else have a so bad it's good movie that just flat out doesn't work for them? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

Wow, you walked out of Plan 9? That's like the king of so bad it's good movies to most people... I sat through the whole thing at a friend's house once and honestly I get it, the pacing is so bad it just drags on forever. But still, walking out feels like sacrilege around here, like admitting you don't like laughing at Ed Wood's weird vision.
