The VHS bins at the thrift store changed my bad movie night forever

I used to just scroll Netflix for hours looking for something hilariously bad to watch with friends. Then about 6 months ago I found a bin of old VHS tapes at the Salvation Army on Main Street for 50 cents each. Now I grab random horror and action movies from the 80s and 90s without reading any reviews first. The last one I picked up had a guy in a rubber monster suit fighting a ninja in a warehouse, and it was PURE gold. Has anyone else found a weird hidden gem from a thrift store that totally floored you?

Oh COME ON, you're telling me a rubber monster vs. ninja movie is "PURE gold"? I found a tape last month called "Creature from the Hell Lagoon" and it was just a guy in a wet suit stumbling around a kiddie pool for an hour. The payoff was a cheap puppet that barely moved. I don't get the hype for these things, most of them are just bad in a boring way, not bad in a fun way.

Pure gold" is doing a LOT of heavy lifting there, for sure. My buddy Mark found a tape called "Wizard of the Swamp" and it was literally just a guy in a burlap sack yelling at frogs for 45 minutes. So I totally get where you're coming from, @kelly.robin, most of these are just poorly made instead of entertainingly bad.
