Appreciation post: an old barber in Tulsa showed me the thumb trick for fading, now I want to know which side you're on
I kept getting harsh lines on my fades so I tried the thumb trick where you flick your wrist instead of dragging the clipper, and it actually worked after about 10 tries. This guy named Ray at a shop off 11th Street in Tulsa walked me through it in maybe 5 minutes. Now half the guys I know say the flick is sloppy and you should just learn your clipper guards properly. The other half say nobody can blend a skin fade without it. Which camp are you in?
