Appreciation post for clipper oil over aerosol spray

I used to use that aerosol spray for my clippers but I switched to good old clipper oil a few months ago. My Oster 76s were getting hot after just 3 cuts with the spray. Now with a few drops of oil before each head, they run cool all day long. Has anyone else noticed their blades lasting longer since ditching the spray?

Funny thing nobody talks about is how aerosol spray builds up on the inside of the clipper casing over time. Took mine apart after years of using spray and there was this sticky film coating everything inside. Oil just drips through and doesn't leave that residue behind. Also noticed my blades stop catching hair as fast with oil since it doesn't get all gummy like spray does when it mixes with dirt and hair dust. The motor on my 76s actually sounds quieter now too, less strain on it overall.

I read somewhere that aerosol sprays have propellants that can actually break down plastic parts over time. Makes sense why oil would be better for keeping everything solid inside.
