Had a client in Austin ask for a full skin fade with a straight razor finish last Friday.

It was the smoothest cut I've done in months, and he tipped $50 on a $35 service. Anyone else seeing more requests for that old-school razor detail lately?

Oh man, that "straight razor finish" is the real deal! I had a guy come in last week asking for the same thing, and you're right, it just looks and feels different. It's like the final touch that takes a good cut to a perfect one. I swear people are starting to really appreciate that level of detail again. It's not just a haircut, it's an experience, and they're willing to pay for it. That's awesome your client showed love with the tip too!

My barber in Chicago says his straight razor appointments are up almost 40% this year.

Totally feel you on this, man. I had the same thing happen with my barber downtown and the straight razor work is just a whole different level. It's like they actually care about the little details that make you look sharp for days after. That kind of service is rare now and definitely worth tipping heavy for. People are starting to see the difference between a quick buzz and a real craft.
