Had a kid ask me why I was 'mowing the lawn on his head' yesterday

I was fading this 8 year old kid at my chair in Chicago and he just blurts out 'are you mowing the lawn on my head?' I had to stop and laugh because the clipper sound really does kind of sound like a lawnmower up close. His mom was dying in the waiting area. Has anyone else gotten weird questions from kids during a cut?

Kids have a way of cutting through all the adult filters and just saying exactly what pops into their head. That kid was probably halfway between being bored and zoning out while watching the clippers, and his brain just made a dead simple connection. Happens all the time with adults too, but we learn to keep that stuff inside. We're all walking around with that same inner monologue, just too polite to let it out.

My kid did the same thing at a pet store once. Saw a hamster sleeping and goes "mom, that one broke." Just dead serious. The lady working there actually laughed. She said it happens more than you'd think. Kids don't have that filter yet, @blair_gibson78. Makes you wonder how much of what we don't say is actually the real truth.
