I finally figured out why my fades look flat on camera

Last Tuesday a client showed me a pic they took under the fluorescent lights at their office and my fade looked like a gray smear, no blend at all. I realized I've been checking my work under the warm bulbs in my shop only, which flatters everything, so now I do a quick pass with my phone's flashlight before I finish. Any of you guys use natural light or a second lamp to double check your blend before you let them walk out?

Smartest thing I've read all week. Warm bulbs are basically makeup for barbers, they hide every mistake like a filter on a dating app. I've had clients walk out looking crisp under my lights, then send me a pic from their kitchen and I look like I blended their fade with a crayon. Phone flashlight is the move, but honestly I've started dragging a cheap daylight lamp from my garage into the shop just for that final check. Next step is making all my clients stand under it before they leave, like a interrogation scene, but for hair.
