I thought those online booking systems were just extra work for no reason

For years I stuck with a paper book and phone calls, figuring people liked the personal touch. Then a regular moved to Chicago and told me he books his new guy online because he can see open slots without calling. I tried a free one for a month and it cut my no-shows in half. Now I spend maybe 10 minutes a day on the schedule instead of 30. What other tools did you guys try that actually saved time?

How about a simple email newsletter for last-minute openings?

Ever try those text reminder services? My buddy's shop uses one and he says it saves him a ton of time chasing people down. It just sends a quick automatic text the day before.
