Just tried a new way to hold the comb for tight fades
I was working on a skin fade yesterday and kept getting a small line at the transition. My buddy said to try holding the comb flat against the head instead of angled, so I gave it a shot. After about three passes with my Andis Masters, the blend smoothed out way better than before. Has anyone else found a small grip change that fixed a big problem for them?

Flat comb trick is fine for practice. But honestly, most clients won't even see that tiny line.

Actually, that tiny line is the whole point. It shows you're paying attention to the details. Clients notice that stuff more than you'd think.

My old shop manager showed me to hold the comb almost parallel to the floor for that last guideline. It lets the clipper blade, I use a Fast Feed, kind of skim over it instead of digging in. You get a softer removal, and that line just disappears. It took me a week of messing it up to get the pressure right, but now it's automatic.
