Always keep your corded clippers as a backup.

Blakecampbell is giving out the kind of advice you only learn after your battery dies halfway through a big hedge. My corded backup is probably in a box somewhere, under a pile of extension cords that are also a tangled mess. It's a solid plan until you actually need to use that old dinosaur and remember why you went cordless in the first place. Guess I'll go dig it out and hope the spiders haven't claimed it.

Last time I dug out my corded trimmer, the cord was so stiff it felt like trying to bend a garden hose in January. Had to unwind about a hundred feet of extension cord just to reach the front bushes. Took me longer to set up than to actually trim the thing. That backup plan works until you're standing there untangling knots instead of getting the job done.
