Old clippers came back to life after I changed the blade gap on a whim

I've been using the same Wahl clippers for about 4 years, and last month I noticed them pulling hairs bad on a fade. After oiling and cleaning did nothing, I decided to check the blade gap with a feeler gauge and it was way off. Anyone else forget to check the gap regularly?

Four years and you just now checked the gap?

Picked up an old Oster clipper set my dad left me and found the blade gap was completely off too, @lily_gibson13, turns out it was causing all the noise and burning smell. I just eyeballed it before and got lucky for years, guess I never thought about it being that precise. Now I check it every few months with a feeler gauge and my fades come out way cleaner.
