PSA: A kid's first haircut in my chair went sideways fast

I was in my shop in Springfield last Tuesday, and a dad brought his 2 year old for a first cut. The kid was fine until the clippers turned on, then he started screaming and moving like crazy. I had to stop and just talk to him for a minute, showing him the clippers on my own hand. We ended up doing the whole cut with just my shears, which took 15 extra minutes. Anyone else have a go-to move for a scared little one?

Are you serious, just shears? My hands are cramping up just thinking about that! I tried that once on a small section and it took forever, I can't imagine doing a whole head. That's some serious patience, man.
