Straight razor shaves in Chicago made me switch back to clippers

Did a hot towel shave on a client last month at my shop on Milwaukee Ave, and the close result was honestly better than anything I've got with a blade... but the time it takes and the risk of irritation just isn't worth it for daily work. Am I the only one who thinks the old school stuff gets overhyped when clippers give a solid fade in half the time?

You ever find that the closer the shave, the quicker your skin reminds you why you stopped bothering? That hot towel stuff looks incredible in the moment, but the next day your neck pays for it. I get the appeal for a special occasion, but when you're trying to move clients through the chair, speed and consistency win every time. Nothing wrong with keeping the straight razor for the folks who ask, but I'm with you on clippers being the real workhorse.
