The client who insisted on a fade at 7 AM made me rethink my booking schedule

Some guy walked in yesterday before I even unlocked, said he needed a skin fade for a court appearance at 9. I squeezed him in between my 6:30 and 8:00 cuts, but the rush meant I skipped my usual check-in with a regular who came at 7:45. He wasn't mad, but it got me thinking about how many walk-ins I say yes to before my first coffee. Has anyone else started blocking the first 15 minutes of the day just to avoid that scramble?

Tbh that "before my first coffee" part hit me hard. I've had the exact same thing happen, some guy showed up at 7:10 for a beard trim and I was still wiping sleep out of my eyes. Blocking those first 15 minutes is a total game changer, I started doing it last month and it's saved my whole morning routine. Now I just sip my coffee and set up my tools without that frantic rush.
