Told to switch to a 1.5 comb for fading and I thought he was crazy
My old mentor kept saying my blend would look cleaner if I just used a 1.5 instead of the 2 guard. I finally tried it last Tuesday on a client with thick black hair and honestly the fade came out way smoother with no line. Anyone else find that dropping down a half guard makes a bigger difference than they expected?

Isn't it funny how the smallest tweaks in our tools can totally change the outcome, like how using a little less salt in a recipe makes everything taste better?

Well, I'll be. Funny how the small stuff sneaks up on you like that, isn't it? You spend years thinking a 2 guard is the holy grail, then one stubborn old timer proves you wrong with a half step. Guess that's why they call 'em mentors and not just buddies.
