My temp probe died right before a big cook
I was getting ready for a family thing yesterday, had a 12 pound brisket on, and my main temp probe just stopped working. It was one of those dual probe ones I got at the hardware store, maybe 2 years old. Had to run to the store for a cheap backup and guess the temp for a bit, which was super stressful. Anyone have a good brand for probes that last more than a couple seasons? I don't want this to happen again.

What hardware store probe lasted you two years?

Got a cheap one from Harbor Freight. It just kept working!

Bought a $12 multimeter from there years ago just to check fuses. Thing still works fine. @avery629 asked about a probe lasting two years - honestly I'm more impressed my Harbor Freight tape measure hasn't snapped yet. It's got dents from dropping it off a ladder and still clicks out smooth. Probably made from the same mystery metal as their wrenches that bend if you look at them wrong.
