Vent: Bought a fancy digital thermometer that died after one cookout
Wasted $75 on a Bluetooth probe that just stopped connecting. Should have stuck with my old analog one. Anyone know a brand that can handle real smoke and heat?

Lost my cheap thermometer guts to a grease fire last month, just melted right out of the plastic. Had to grab it with tongs. I still think webb.derek is onto something with the "fancy digital" criticism because that old analog probe I had survived way worse conditions for years.

Ugh, the Bluetooth is always the first thing to go. I bet the battery can't handle the temperature swings either.
