Buddy at the co-op swore by greasing pedal threads with anti-seize and I thought he was nuts

He said it stops creaking better than grease and after 18 months of silent pedals on my winter commuter I had to admit he was right, has anyone else tried this or is it just asking for trouble on aluminum cranks?

Man, my buddy tried that and stripped his crank arm clean off.

Got a buddy who used anti-seize on his seatpost after a carbon frame creaked like a haunted house. Worked fine for six months until the post got stuck so bad he had to drill it out. Said the anti-seize turned into some kind of concrete over time. Different materials, I guess. My old man used grease on everything - pedals, stem bolts, even the derailleur hanger - and never had a problem in thirty years.
