Finally tried a proper torque wrench on carbon seatposts
I mean, I used to just go by feel with a regular hex key, but after a customer brought in a cracked post, I got a Topeak D-Torq. The difference in confidence is huge, especially setting it to 5 Nm. Anyone else make that switch and notice fewer creaks?

Wait, you were just going by feel on carbon before? That's honestly wild to me. I can't imagine putting that much trust in my wrist when the parts are that easy to crush. The cost of a torque wrench is nothing next to replacing a frame.

Man, that's the only way to do it now. I've seen too many posts get wrecked by a strong arm and a guess. Getting the right tool just takes all the worry out of the job.
