Just dumped $80 on a chain whip that bent on the first cassette
Bought a no-name brand chain whip off Amazon because I was being cheap. First time using it to pop a Shimano cassette off my commuter bike, the pins bent on the second turn. Had to borrow my buddy's Park Tool one to finish the job. Anyone else get burned by budget tools that just fold under light pressure?

$80 for a chain whip that bent first use is brutal. I bought a $15 one off Amazon last year and the pins bent before I even got the cassette loose. Had to use a big wrench as leverage and it still slipped. Lesson learned, I just borrow my buddy's Park Tool stuff now too. You really do get what you pay for with bike tools, especially anything that takes torque.

Figure that pattern shows up everywhere now, not just bike tools... seems like everything's made to barely pass the first job and then fall apart. Even my $40 toaster from Target started smoking after a month, meanwhile my buddy's 15 year old one just keeps going.
