Just realized I spent 20 minutes picking between a $4 cable and a $22 cable for a ghost shifting problem
Customer's rear derailleur was ghost shifting on every climb and I had a brand new Jagwire housing on the bench next to a cheap bulk roll I've had since March. I grabbed the cheap one because the bike was a 2011 hybrid worth about $180 and the fancy housing felt like putting a tuxedo on a lawn mower. Now I'm second guessing myself, does housing quality actually matter that much or did I just get lucky on the test ride?
