My old shop teacher swore by the 'tap it with a hammer' method for stuck seatposts

I used to do that for years until I saw a guy in Portland use a long pipe and a bench vise to apply steady pressure. Now I keep a piece of steel pipe in my kit for that job. Anyone have a different go-to for a really seized post?

My hammer method just made the bike mad at me.

Ever notice how trying to force a fix on anything, like a stuck bolt or a tech issue, just makes it fight back harder? It's like the universe's rule that the more you brute force it, the more it digs in. Your bike getting "mad" is just the latest example of that law in action.
