Rant: carbon seatpost clamp torque spec vs reality on a 2014 frame
I was torquing a customer's seatpost to the manual's 5.5 Nm spec on a 2014 carbon road frame and the clamp bolt snapped clean at 4.8 with a brand new Park tool. Turns out the rails had worn a groove into the clamp, making it bind before the number mattered. Anyone else trust published torque values over actually feeling for resistance during install?
