Book club voted to skip the last 3 chapters and it drove me crazy

Last month our group of 8 read a mystery novel, and halfway through the meeting someone suggested we just talk about the ending without finishing it. Everyone agreed because they were behind on reading. I was the only one who had finished all 320 pages, so I kept spoiling things by accident. Has anyone else had a club vote to skip content just to keep the meeting going? How do you handle it when the group decides to cut corners like that?
