I rolled my eyes at our club's 'no spoiler' rule for the first 50 pages
Then we read 'The Silent Patient' and a guy's 'theoretical' guess in Denver last week was the exact twist, which totally ruined the debate. Has your group ever had a spoiler accident that changed a whole meeting?

Ugh, that's the worst! We had a guy who kept saying stuff like "just wait for the real reason she left the house" during our "Rebecca" discussion. It wasn't a direct quote, but his tone made everyone guess the whole plot by chapter five. Totally killed the vibe for the new members.

Chapter five? That's just cruel.

Oh the "just wait" guy... classic move, @piperf40. It's like they think they're a movie trailer narrator but for books. Really takes the fun out of finding out what happens next when someone's basically winking at the big twist.
