My book club co-worker made me rethink my whole reading style

I was talking to Jen from accounting at lunch on Tuesday and she said she never finishes a book she doesn't like. She just puts it down and picks another one. That hit different because I've been forcing myself through 300 pages of a novel I hated for three weeks straight. Why do we do that? Has anyone else gotten stuck in that trap where you feel like you have to finish every book you start?

I used to be a finisher too but this actually made me rethink my whole approach.
