My friend argued that a book's ending is more important than its middle

We were talking about 'The Midnight Library' after our club read it, and she said if the ending isn't strong, the whole book feels wasted. I heard another member say a weak middle makes you stop reading before you even get to the end. I took away that people value different parts of a story based on what keeps them hooked. Which part ruins a book more for you, a boring middle or a bad ending?

Ever start a book and just lose all steam halfway through? That's the killer for me. A bad ending is disappointing, but a boring middle means I never finish it at all. I've put down so many books because the middle felt like a slog. If the story drags there, I don't even care how it ends. The middle has to keep me turning pages.

Ever notice how that happens with TV shows too, patkelly?
