Spent 3 days hunting a book debate that ended up being a typo

Our club argued for three whole meetings over whether the character's secret motive was jealousy or guilt, turns out the publisher's ebook had a missing paragraph that changed the whole scene. I finally compared the paperback copy a member brought and found the gap on page 214. Has anyone else had a debate that just vanished once you checked a different edition?

Those missing paragraphs can hide entire plot twists, makes you wonder what else got cut.
