The Book Club That Couldn't Agree If the Narrator Was a Ghost or Just Boring
Last month in Portland, our group spent 90 minutes arguing whether a character's silence meant she was a spirit or just poorly written, and we nearly lost two members over it. Has anyone else had a debate get so heated that people threatened to quit over a plot detail?

Our horror book club split right down the middle over whether the monster was real or just a metaphor for grief, and one guy packed his bag and walked out mid-sentence. Never saw him again.
