Unpopular opinion: my book club arguing about the ending of a book was better in person than on our group chat
We met at a coffee shop in Portland last week to talk about a mystery novel none of us could agree on. Six of the eight people thought the ending was a cop out, and two of us loved it, so it got loud fast. I noticed we hashed out more in 90 minutes at that table than we had in three weeks of texting about it. Back when we started this club, we only met in person and had maybe one argument a month, but the chat never really settles anything. Does your club get more out of meeting face to face or is the group chat actually working for you?
