I dropped $200 on a titanium spork set and it was a total waste

Everyone raves about titanium gear for weight savings, but that spork set bent on the third use scooping canned chili. I ended up back at my old $2 plastic spoon from a gas station - lighter and actually works. Anybody else ditch the fancy stuff for cheap plastic?

Was it one of those "ultralight" ones that's basically foil-thin? I'm wondering if the brand even matters or if titanium sporks just inherently suck at scooping anything denser than air.

Wait, have you seen the video where a guy tested like 10 different titanium sporks and found that the shape of the tines matters way more than the brand? I remember reading that flat, wide tines on a spork can actually scoop up chili or thick yogurt without it all sliding off, unlike those skinny pointy ones that just turn everything into a mess for @marywells. The thin ones are honestly just for show, they're barely better than using a stick you found on the ground. But the thicker Toaks brand one I had was decent, still not as good as a real spoon though.
