My buddy laughed at my $9 headlamp until the Walmart one died at 2am on Rainier
I figured cheap lights were fine since I only camp a few times a year, then my $40 brand name headlamp crapped out in the cold while his cheap one kept going. What cheap gear actually held up for you when the expensive stuff quit?
