Overheard a guy at the REI in Boulder say his $300 sleeping bag was 'too warm' for summer in the Rockies.

It made me realize I've been packing my 15-degree bag for every trip out of habit, even when the forecast says 60 at night, so has anyone else found a good, light summer bag they actually use?

Spent a whole weekend sweating in my old winter bag last July, felt like a baked potato wrapped in foil. Finally broke down and got a cheap 40-degree quilt from a garage sale. It's basically a fancy sheet with straps, but it's perfect for those warm nights. I still bring the heavy bag as a just-in-case, but it mostly stays in the car. My pride took a hit, but my sleep got way better.

That's a smart move by @skyler_fox72. My old 20-degree bag felt like a sauna, so I switched to a simple 50-degree quilt for summer and it made a huge difference.
