Honestly, good for you. That cheap foam pad will never pop on you, and you can just toss it in the car without a second thought. Some of my best trips were on a basic blue pad from the discount bin.

It's a sleeping pad, not a life choice. The expensive one might be lighter, but you're still sleeping on the ground. The mountains won't care either way.
