Serious question, is anyone else still using a camp stove from 2012?

I used to just grab my old Coleman two-burner and call it good, but after a trip to Lost Maples last spring I spent 45 minutes getting it to light. Switched to a Jetboil Genesis last month and I can have coffee boiling in under 3 minutes. Has anyone else made the jump from the old white gas era to something modern?

So that cold weather issue you mentioned with the canisters, how bad does it have to get before the Jetboil starts struggling? I camp up in the Guadalupe Mountains a lot where it drops below freezing and I'm wondering if white gas might actually be better for those trips even with the hassle.

My old Coleman from 2010 finally gave up the ghost last summer, so I feel your pain with that long lighting process (especially when you're half asleep and just want coffee). The switch to a Jetboil was honestly a game changer for me, I mean the thing lights on the first click every time. What really sold me was how fast the water boils compared to white gas, my old stove took like 10 minutes for a pot of water. The only downside I've found is that you really have to keep the gas canisters warm in cold weather (learned that the hard way camping in Big Bend). But overall, it's so much less hassle that I can't see myself going back to the old days of priming pumps and fiddling with fuel.
