Found a 1950s census record that listed my grandpa as a 'radium dial painter' at 16 years old

Stumbled across it on a genealogy site last month and it kind of freaked me out since those girls from the Radium Girls case were getting sick around the same time, has anyone else found weird job listings in old records?

Wait, the radium paint was still a thing in the 1950s? I thought they'd stopped using it by then.

And my great aunt was listed as a "watch hand pointer" in a 1930s factory, radioactive paint too.
