Just realized my cousin's 'proof' about the moon landing was a mislabeled photo from a car show
We were at a family cookout in Akron last summer, and he pulled up a photo on his phone that he said showed a stage light in the 'moon' sky. He was so sure it was from a NASA archive. I looked closer and saw a tiny banner in the corner that said 'Canton Classic Car Show, 2019'. I pointed it out, and he just shrugged and said, 'Well, they could have faked that too.' It was a weird mix of funny and sad. Has anyone else had a moment where the 'evidence' presented was just clearly something else?

Moving the goalposts like your uncle, @anna_carter53, reminds me of the time my friend swore a weather balloon was a UFO, even after the news showed the launch.

Oh man, that's perfect. My uncle once tried to show me "proof" of bigfoot using a super blurry picture. I zoomed in and it was just his neighbor's really shaggy dog standing in some bushes by their shed. He still insisted the neighbor was in on the cover-up. It's wild how they just move the goalposts instead of admitting they're wrong lol.

You gotta learn the art of just walking away mid sentence when they do that. I had a coworker once try to tell me chemtrails were real because he saw a plane leaving a contrail by his house. I pulled up the FAA website on my phone and showed him the exact flight path and altitude. He just said, "Thats what they want you to think." @rivera.simon you know the drill by now I bet. My rule is if they shift the goalposts more than once in a single conversation, you politely change the subject to pizza or sports. Saves your sanity and the cookout doesn't get awkward.
