One skeptic's reply on debris photos shifted my whole method

I've spent about 2 years debunking UFO videos in this forum, and someone pointed out that I always zoomed in on the object but never checked the background shadows for lighting mismatch. After testing that on 3 old cases, I found two that were clearly lens flares, so now I look at ground details first before the main subject. Has anyone else had a specific criticism that actually improved how you analyze footage, or do you mostly stick to your own checklist?
