Stumbled on something weird at the county records office in Cleveland last Tuesday
I was looking up old property deeds for a family history project. The clerk handed me a microfilm roll from 1967 and said "don't lose the index card." When I popped it in the reader, half the frames were completely blacked out with white correction fluid. Not a single property record showed up for a whole block on East 55th Street. The guy next to me whispered that it's the same block where a warehouse burnt down in '68 with no official report. Has anyone else run into missing records from that era in their city?

Did you try asking them about the old newspaper archives too, @avery629? That's what finally helped me connect the dots on a tricky family history project.
