Used to swear by tin foil hats until I ran my own test

I always thought wrapping my router in aluminum foil was nonsense, but I wanted faster Wi-Fi in my basement office. Spent 6 hours trying different foil shapes and positions, and it actually boosted my signal by 15% according to my laptop. Now I'm wondering if those homemade signal boosters have more truth to them than I ever gave credit. Has anyone else tried this and gotten weirdly specific results?

Alright yeah, I totally used to roll my eyes at that stuff too but now I'm kinda curious.

I'd start with a cheap used one from Facebook Marketplace before spending real money on it.
