Found a cheap way to fix scratchy guitar pots without replacing them
My old fuzz pedal had this nasty crackle when I turned the volume knob, so I was looking at $15 for a new pot plus shipping. I tried spraying some contact cleaner into the pot through the little gap on the side, and it worked like magic after just two squirts and some twisting back and forth. The trick is to use a precision tip straw that comes with most electronic cleaner cans, so you can aim it right inside the pot's housing. I spent like 20 minutes waiting for it to dry before plugging it back in, and now the knob is smoother than my new delay pedal. Has anyone else had good luck with this method or do you just swap the whole part out instead?

That precision tip straw makes all the difference, most people skip it and the cleaner just runs down the side.
