My breadboard fuzz pedal started humming after 3 months

Built a simple silicon fuzz on a breadboard back in January. Sounded great at first but after about 3 months it developed this low hum that would only get worse when I touched the enclosure. Turned out the jumper wires I used were cheap solid core and they had started oxidizing at the breadboard contact points. Replaced all the jumpers with nicer pre-formed ones and the hum disappeared. Anyone else have weird issues pop up after leaving a breadboard build sitting for a while?

Oh man, "only get worse when I touched the enclosure" - I feel that, I once had a breadboard fuzz that sounded like a dying bee every time I went to adjust a knob, probably from my greasy fingers.
