My Fuzz Face clone started oscillating like a therephin at band practice

Honestly I was just testing my new germanium transistor build in my basement in Chicago and it went full squeal mode. Turns out I had the input and output wires running parallel for 4 inches too long. Rewired them crossed at 90 degrees and now it sounds killer. Anyone else had weird noise issues from wire placement in high gain circuits?

Man that wire parallel thing is EVERYWHERE. Like I noticed if I keep my phone charger and aux cord too close in the car I get this weird hum. Even saw it with my buddy's ham radio setup. It's like when power lines near a fence start buzzing in the wind.
