My old phone charger finally gave out and I grabbed a cheap one from the gas station

It took over 4 hours to get my Pixel 7 to 50% and the cable got super hot. I ordered the official Google 30W charger instead and it hits full charge in under an hour now. The difference in build quality and charging speed is huge. Anyone have a go-to brand for good, fast chargers that last?

Yeah, gas station chargers are total junk. They're a fire hazard and barely push any power. For a Pixel, you definitely need a good USB-C PD charger. Anker's my go-to brand, their stuff is solid and doesn't cost a fortune.

I've actually had decent luck with them in a pinch, but you're right about needing PD for a Pixel.

Gently disagree on Anker being the only solid budget option though. I've had an Aukey PD charger for two years now and it's still going strong, cost less than Anker too. Just make sure whatever you get is listed as USB-IF certified, that's the real safety standard. And yeah, never trust those gas station ones for anything more than topping off overnight.
