Warning: My new fitness tracker bricked itself during a firmware update

It was just sitting on my nightstand in Portland, and the screen went black halfway through. I had to hold the side button for a full 30 seconds to force a hard reset. Anyone know a better brand that doesn't have this issue?

Ever think maybe you just got a bad unit? My tracker from that brand has been fine through like five updates.
